Abstract
There was a lot of cases in communication that makes conflict in society. One of the cases happened in Pesbukers Talk Show, which was the case of actor who was angry when the host asked to him. Thus, that case becomes the consideration to choose this topic and chose “Live!With Kelly and Michael” Talk Show because the host of this talk show raised question which is understood by their guest stars. There are two statements of the problem in this study. First, the types of maxim that used by the host and guest stars. Second, how the maxim flouted by the host. In analyzing the problems, the theory that used is cooperative principle and the research design of this study using descriptive case study. This study found out that there are two applying of cooperative principle: Applying cooperative principle in communication and flouting the maxim of cooperative principle in communication.
