Abstract

The title of the research is “The Ethical Egoism in Air Supply‟s Album, The Vanishing Race” . The purpose of the reserach is to find the ethical egoism descibed in the Air Supply‟s album of “The Vanishing Race” . Secondly is to find the impact of Ethical Egoism itself.The type of this research is literary and ethical egoism research. This thesis approach applied hermenutic and the behaviour of ethical egoism to analyze the man and woman figure in the album. By using the the theory of hermenutics to interprete the lyric of The Vanishing Race album and explore more by using the theory of ethical egoism to complete the analysis. The result showed that (1) both of the man and the woman figure found in the lyric are selfish as described in ethical egoism.(2) the impact of the ethical egoism on the male figures show that being egoistic that leads to unhappiness, and the impact of ethical egoism by the man figure that leads her to leave their relationship.
