Abstract

This thesis is an observation and analysis of The Wasteland. The psychological state of T.S.Eliot depicted in The Wasteland are chosen to be analyzed because it seem the wasteland is reflection of T.S.Eliot personal life, and also about the condition in London after world war 1. The purpose of this study is to figure out how the psychological state of T.S.Eliot depicted in this poem. By answering the question, it will be able to know whether the wasteland by T.S.Eliot its reflection of his personal life and the situation in that time or not. In analyzing literary approaches in form hermeneutic approaches are used. The related literature used in symbol and psychoanalytic theory in analysis. This thesis result in a conclusion that The Wasteland are representation of emotional journey of T.S.Eliot.
