Abstract

This is a study about reflection of the end of the Cold War era in Scorpions' Wind of Change lyrics. The purposes of this thesis are to analyze the inference of the wind of change utterances in the lyrics of Scorpions' Wind of Change and to find out the relationship between Scorpions' Wind of Change lyrics and the end of the Cold War era. This thesis uses new historicism approach and theory as well. This thesis employs qualitative descriptive method. The procedures of the thesis are reading, collecting the data, classifying the data, and analyzing. The conclusions of the thesis are the wind of change utterances infer perestoika and glasnost the political system reforms that happened in Soviet Union or USSR and this lyrics describes about the collapse of Communism, as the main ideology of Soviet Union, Central and Eastern Europe or member countries of Eastern Bloc generally that ends the Cold War era later on.
