Abstract
The topic of this study is about talk show called Oprah Show. Oprah Show is one of the most popular talk show in America. This study is aimed to find out the communication style used by Oprah winfrey in Oprah Show to reveal the privacy of the guests about LGBT and the effect of communication style used by Oprah to the guests. This research use Hofnerr (2005) theory about communication style and Katz (1966) theory about verbal communication. This study uses qualitative research method. The result of this study are direct communication style always used by Oprah Winfrey, There is a tendency for people to answer with the same style, and from total 50 utterances, only 13 utterances which are focus in revealing the privacy of the guest about LGBT.
