Abstract
International conflict has always been an interest not only people but also broadcasting media across the world. This included one of the most controversial wars in the Middle East that is the dispute between Palestine and Israel which has continued for more than 10 years with the latest conflict that started on October 7th 2023 which dragged the attention of the international broadcasting media including in Indonesia such as TV One and Metro TV. Like other media, TV One and Metro TV’s news reports contained discourse which carried hidden ideology using language. Thus, this study aims to answer the following question that is: What is hidden ideology depicted in Metro TV and TV One YouTube channels’ news coverages’ discourse of the recent conflict between Israel and Palestine. The method utilized for this research is CDA three-dimensional framework by Fairclough and using descriptive qualitative research method as the research design. The research found that the hidden ideology of TV One was mainly about villainizing and downgrading Israel while praising Hamas whereas Metro TV’s ideology was mainly about neutrality, objectivity, pacifism, and Humanitarianism. However, more future research or study which touch on the influence of the ideologies on the society is suggested.
