Abstract
In this research the object uses Asian Talk Show and American Talkshow, those are A Date with Lu Yu from China and Steve Harvey Morning Show from United States of America. The purpose of this study is find out the differences politeness strategies used by Asian and American. To find the differences this research uses politeness strategy theory by Brown and Levinson. Politeness hold important place in communication especially as the presenter. By applying the theories, the research will know the strategies that presenter used which have different purpose. The writer use qualitative study in this research. The writer’s significant are to know what kind of politeness strategy and to know how the presenter used the strategies.
