Abstract
As the former first lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton delivered her speech differently and she is good at public speaking. She used women linguistic features in her speeches. Therefore, the main objectives of this research are (i) to find out what types of women linguistic features used by Hillary Rodham Clinton (ii) to find out the most women linguistic features frequently used in Hillary Rodham Clinton’s speech. A total of five Hillary Clinton’s speeches from 2008 to 2012 were selected as the primary data and this study applied content analysis as research design. In this study, it begins by reading five Hillary’s speeches, then the researcher found each features in the speech and analyzing it using Lakoff’s theory. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The results shows that there are six women linguistic features which exist in five speeches delivered by Hillary Clinton. Rising intonation is mostly used in Hillary Clinton’s speeches, in 2008 which is her keynote address.
