Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze types of language function found in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie. The objective of the study is to find language function used by the main character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie and its social dimension. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher used Holmes’s theory to find language function and Holmes’ theory to find social dimension. The result of this study showed that there were eight from eight types of language function categorized by Holmes that used by the main character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie. They were referential, expressive, directive, phatic, metalinguitic, poetic, heuristic and commissive functions of language with referential being the most used and poetic function being the least used.
