Abstract

The natural science laboratory is a means of teaching and learning for elementary school students. In the teaching and learning process practicum methods are conducted, so students can directly observe plants and animals. The natural science laboratory is needed by the teacher in explaining the learning of science subjects directly. The design of this Natural Laboratory is based on Elementary School Architecture Behavior in terms of comfort. The location of this research in Nation Star Academy Elementary School, Surabaya. This school have not had a natural laboratory so the teaching and learning activities have not conducted completely. Because of that, the science teachers have difficulty to explain subjects clearly. The research method used are qualitative and analytical. The data used in these methods consist of literature studies, interviews, observations of similar objects, and documentation. The result conducted from this research is a comfortable natural science laboratory design in the form of building mass, building mass arrangement, color, size and shape, furniture and arrangement, sound, temperature, and lighting for supporting subjects of the Nation Star Academy Elementary School, Surabaya.
