Abstract

The using of概数“多”and“几”in Mandarin sentence has its own specificity. The using of概数“多”can be placed before or after 量词, this placement depends on certain number and量词in the sentence.概数“多”means uncertain surplus number. Meanwhile the using of概数“几”can be used independently and can be paired with tens, hundreds, thousands, and other whole numbers. 概数“几”means number 2 to 9. The placement of 概数“多”often makes students confused because the placement depends on the certain number and 量词. Meanwhile the using of概数“几”are assumed for numbers below 10 can lead errors in the sentence. Through the quantitative and qualitative researched conducted, it showed that one of the biggest error reason in using概数“多”and“几”is the lacking of students' understanding of placing them in Mandarin sentence. Therefore, researcher gave several advices for teachers and students to minimize errors in using概数“多”and“几”.
